Renaissance are in themselves magnificent monuments of our art.

You can see a master's skillful hand revealed in the gold-leaf woodcarving,

all in glamour; in the finely painted ornaments and in the splendid icons that

have kept the simplicity of style found in Mediaeval paragons and the strong

aesthetic impact that they still have on us, making us understand more clearly

the extraordinary talent that Bulgarian

masters have.
